Overview:

Radon Reduction & Testing, Inc. is the oldest, full-service radon testing and mitigation company in Georgia and the South. We have designed and performed measurement surveys for schools, office complexes, multi-family housing complexes, hotels, correctional facilities, military facilities, national and local government facilities, airport facilities as well as single-family homes. Since 1986 Radon Reduction & Testing, Inc. has designed and installed residential mitigation systems in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Many of these homeowners continue an annual service and monitoring agreement (some since 1987) that provides a unique insight into the operating life of all aspects of mitigation systems, and assures clients that its systems are designed to last for the life of the property.

The commercial and institutional construction experience of Mr. Howell has provided a unique insight into the design and installation of mitigation systems in large buildings such as schools, office buildings, institutional, commercial, and multi-family homes. Radon Reduction & Testing, Inc. has installed mitigation systems in more than 65 school buildings on 39 campuses; more than 35 office buildings for clients such as GSA, Centers for Disease Control, Internal Revenue Service, the Food and Drug Administration, and Cullman County Correctional Facility; multi-family complexes from Maryland to Florida; and Habitat for Humanity's Jimmy Carter Work Project, Anniston, AL Blitz build of 36 homes (June 2003).

At Radon Reduction & Testing we have the highest, on-going commitment to quality and accuracy available. We had continuously participated in the EPA’s proficiency program since it’s beginning in 1986.  We currently participate in the certification program provided by The National Environmental Health Association, Inc., designated by the EPA in 1998 when its program ended to provide proficiency services.       In addition to performing certified calibration and service for Eberline, Thompson-Neilson, Scientrex, Pylon, and femto-Tech instruments, we have provided calibration and quality control exposures for more than 100 companies in the United States and Europe.

Radon Reduction & Testing, Inc. has a long-standing commitment to training. We have been participants with the EPA in the research and development for radon testing and mitigation procedures and protocols since 1985. In 1988 we began offering radon measurement and mitigation training. We participated in the development of the EPA training program in 1990 including the curriculum for courses ranging from radon awareness to design and installation of mitigation systems for school and other large buildings. We have held positions within the EPA program, now under NEHA-NRPP, and individual state programs such as the Southeast Training Center Coordinator, a trainer for the EPA trainers, and have instructed more than 4500 individuals in at least 44 states, incorporating individual state requirements, and participate in the NEHA Speaker's Bureau.

In the Spring of 2007, Radon Reduction and Testing, Inc. became the first distributor for Air Quality Enhancement Systems, Inc. (AirQES). By August 2007, Radon Reduction and Testing, Inc. contracted to supply AirQES products in approximately 7,000 new homes in North Georgia.
