If you're searching for a radon mitigation specialist, then you probably know why radon is of vital concern to you.

Reducing dangerous radon levels in family homes has become a priority issue for the EPA - and for home buyers and sellers. Already, most corporate relocation companies require sellers to assume all responsibility for radon testing and mitigation.

As awareness of this important issue grows, the real estate marketplace is insisting on radon reduction of only the highest workmanship.

Radon enters your home from the ground. As uranium and radium decay in rock and soil, radon gas is produced.

Because the air pressure in your home is usually lower than the pressure in the soil around your home's foundation, your house actually acts as a vacuum, drawing the gas through the concrete, foundation cracks and other openings. In some cases the building materials can contain uranium and / or radium and be a radon source

Just sealing these cracks won't solve the problem. A structurally integrated radon mitigation system is required to rid your house of radon.

Active soil depressurization
The most successful radon mitigation technique.

  • Using PVC pipe and an in-line centrifugal fan, a low-pressure zone is created beneath the house's concrete slab. The fan draws the gas from beneath the foundation up and out of the house.

  • This arrangement prevents the gas from entering the building by reversing the direction of airflow. Air flows from the house into the soil instead of from the soil into the house.

  • Caulking and sealing foundation cracks and other entry points is done to enhance the effectiveness of the depressurization system and minimizes the loss of conditioned air from the house.
